The Pakistani cricketer is considered as the best leg-spin bowler in the world and even many people compare him with the leg-spin legend Shane Warne. His consistent performance in Test Cricket format earned him high spot in the World Ranking of Test Match bowlers. Yasir Shah made his Test Match debut on 22 October 2014 against Australia in UAE. He demolished the strong Australian Team and not only awarded as “Man of the Series” but also helped his team whitewash the Australia with 2-0. He became the fastest Pakistani bowler to take 50 Test Match wickets. Yasir Shah also has record of highest number of wickets in first 10 matches for any leg-spinner in history of Test Match cricket. Yasir Shah also got the award of “Man of the Series” in Sri Lanka when he took most wicket in Test Series in Sri Lanka by any overseas player. He performed so well and so consistently in Test Cricket that even Shame Warne praised him and predicted that he will end his career with at least over 200 Test wickets.
Yasir Shah was born on 2 May 1986 in Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. He was born in small, far flung city of Pakistan but started to play cricket at an early age with a big dreams in his eyes. One interesting thing about Yasir Shah is that he closely resembles with the legendary footballer Messi. His role model is the legendary Pakistani leg-spin bowler Abdul Qadir. He has the energy of Abdul Qadir but his main weapon is Googly rather than a conventional leg break which makes him more like Shane Warne than Abdul Qadir.
Yasir Shah joined Pakistani Test team after the exit of magical spinner Saeed Ajmal due to his bowling action problems. He filled the space of Ajmal in no time and became the spearhead of Pakistani bowling lineup. Yasir Shah also played some ODI’s and performed well in the ODI format. He is still in early years of his career but already become a superstar in Pakistan Cricket Team.
