He is the least-hyped but most successful and consistent Pakistani pace bowler during last decade. He has capable of swinging the ball with good speed and also known for reverse swinging Yorkers in the depth of innings. Umar Gull is more successful in ODI and T20 cricket than in Test Cricket. After Shoaib Akhtar and Muhammad Asif, Gul has become the leader of Pakistani Pace attack.
Umar Gull was born on 14 April 1984 in Peshawar Pakistan. He started to play tape ball cricket when he was child. He was called for national team in 2003 when he made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe on 3 April 2003. Although he is genuine bowler yet he can bat and perform well as lower order batsman. He proved his aggressive batting ability many times during Test and ODI’s. Overall he is one of the most consistent performers in Pakistani Cricket Team.
