Muhammad Amir is one of the most talented and also one of the most controversial cricketers in history of Pakistan Cricket. The Left-Arm fast bowler made his ODI, T20 and Test Cricket debut in 2009. He impressed everyone in all formats of cricket and compared with great Pakistani left-arm fast bowler Wasim Akram. Wasim Akram himself admitted that Muhammad Amir is much better then himself at age of 18. At that time he was considered as the next great left-arm fast bowler in the world because he was simply unplayable at the age of just 17 years.
Everything was so fascinating about this young fast bowler until 2010 when he was caught in spot-fixing scandal and given five year ban by ICC. At that time it seemed like an end to the fascinating story of Muhammad Amir. But in 2015 he came back in international arena after completing five year ban. He started from where he left performed well at international stage. His comeback was not an easy one because even some of his teammates and senior players refused to be part of team because of Muhammad Amir but somehow he managed to get second chance and started to play for the national side.
Muhammad Amir was born on 13 April 1992 in Gujar Khan, Punjab, Pakistan. He was born in small village and started to play cricket at an early age in the streets of his village. His idol and hero was Wasim Akram and he always tried to emulate his hero in the ground. He was spotted by sports academy when he was 11 years old and after that he started to play proper cricket
Muhammad Amir stunned everyone with his performance in the 2009 ICC World T20. He played all matches of tournament and helped his team lift the trophy in the end. In the tournament he regularly bowled with speed in excess of 145 km/h. His fast bowling along with amazing swing made life difficult for the batsman throughout the tournament. In the final match against Sri Lanka, he obtained the top-scorer Dilshan’s wicket on the fifth ball of his first over hence laid foundation for the victory of Pakistan.
After he made his comeback in 2015 he again impressed everyone. Amir performed well in Bangladesh Premier League and First Pakistan Super League. He took hat-trick in PSL while playing for Karachi Kings. After his return he is playing well and gradually improving with every passing match.
