Sarfraz Ahmed is wicketkeeper batsman of Pakistan Cricket Team. Sarfraz came into lime light when he captained the Pakistan Under-19 team in 2006 Under-19 World Cup. Under his leadership Pakistan won the World Cup and he was considered as future star of Pakistan Cricket. But Sarfraz has to wait for his chance in National Team as Kamran Akmal was the integral part of Pakistan Cricket Team (although his poor wicket-keeping always let Pakistan Cricket Team down).
Sarfraz Ahmed was born on 22 May 1987 in Karachi, Pakistan. He made reputation of aggressive batsman who can run scores with pace especially in limited over cricket. He performed well at junior level and made his ODI debut against India on 18 November 2007. He also got some chances in 2008 but he failed to impress selectors with his batting. In 2015, he scored famous century in World Cup 2015 against Ireland which became turning point of his career. In previous year he scored three Test Match Hundreds and already proved his worth at Test Cricket Level.
After Pakistan’s dismal performance at 2016 World T20, Captain Shahid Afridi has to step down and PCB made Sarfraz Ahmed the new T20 Captain. During tour of England, Pakistan won the lone T20 match against England under leadership of Sarfraz. Same year in UAE, Pakistan white washed the World T20 Champion West Indies Cricket Team under Sarfraz and hence his rise as Captain begun.
