Most Visited Sikh Shrine
The Golden Temple in Amritsar, India, the world’s most important Sikh shrine, has up to 20000 visitors a day. This figure rises to 200000 on special festivals such as Guru Purab (the birthday of one of the 10 Sikh Gurus) and Baisakhi (the day Sikhism was establish). The temple’s second storey is covered in precious stones and about 400 kg of gold leaf.
Hence Golden Temple is the most visited Sikh shrine in the world.
This is also the most sacred religious place for Sikhs.
