Largest Fish in the World
The rare plankton-feeding whale shark ( Rhincodon typus) is found in the warmer areas of the Atlantic, pacific and Indian oceans. The largest scientifically recorded example was 41.6 feet long, and weighed estimated 15-21 tones. It was captured on 11 November 1949 off Baba Island, near Karachi, Pakistan. A whale shark has also produced the largest egg by any living creature. It was found on 29 June 1953 in the Gulf of Mexico and measured 12 * 5.5 * 3.5 in.
