Highest Mountain in South America
Mount Aconcagua is the highest mountain of continent South America. It is located in the Andes Mountain Range, in the province of Mendoza, Argentina. Total height of this tallest South American mountain is 6962 meters or 22834 feet.
It was first climbed by Matthias Zurbriggen in 1897. This great mountain was created by the subduction of Nazca Plat beneath the South American Plate according to geographical theory.
