He is one of the most successful English opening batsmen in the history of England Test Team. This left-handed opening batsman made his Test Cricket debut in 2004 against New Zealand at Lords. He scored century (112) runs in first innings and scored 83 runs in second innings of the Match. He not only won the Man of the Match award but also became the fourth batsman to score century at Lords Ground.
Andrew John Strauss was born on 2 March 1977 in Johannesburg South Africa. He moved to England when he was only 6 years old. Strauss first played cricket in Australia for Caulfield Grammar School. Strauss played 100 Test matches for his nation and retired in his 100th Test. As token of love his teammates brought 100 bottles of wine for him.
